While you can't completely change your skin type or how it naturally behaves,  you can definitely improve pesky skin conditions and prevent future issues. Here we will share some tips on how to improve your skin condition naturally and effortlessly.


PIGMENTATION

If you're dealing with uneven skin tone or dark spots, there are things you can do to help. Skincare products with ingredients like AHAs, vitamin C, Retinoids or niacinamide can brighten your skin and fade dark spots over time. Also, wearing sunscreen daily helps prevent further pigmentation and keeps your skin looking even-toned. Most of the pigmentation can be greatly reduced and controlled, however, this is not the case with hormonal pigmentation, Melasma. Melasma can be controlled to a degree, but in the majority of cases, it will remain in the skin and should be treated with utmost care not to flare it up.

SOLUTION: Sunscreen, Safe Sun exposure, vitamin C,  AHAs, Retinoids, pigment suppressing ingredients. Foods with beta-carotene are beneficial for pigmented skin.


WRINKLES

Aging gracefully is aging gradually!
Though we will all naturally age, and wrinkles are a part of aging, we can definitely minimize their appearance and prevent premature aging. Using moisturizers with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and vitamins can plump up your skin and make wrinkles look less noticeable. Also, using retinoids or peptides in your skincare routine can help boost collagen production and keep your skin looking smoother.  

SOLUTION: Do not neglect your skin and keep it nourished at all times by cleansing, hydrating, moisturizing, and adding anti-aging ingredients such as vitamins, peptides, and retinoids. Sunscreen is a must for all ages, skin types, and tones, rain or shine. UVA damage will result in pigmented, sagging, and wrinkled skin.

ACNE

Dealing with acne can be frustrating, but there are many ways to manage it. Using medicated cleansers and non-comedogenic moisturizers can help keep your skin clean without clogging your pores.

SOLUTION: to prevent scarring, address acne breakouts as soon as possible, ideally finding the cause of acne. Choosing products with ingredients like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide can help treat existing acne and prevent future breakouts. Foods that support and maintain clear skin are foods high in EFAs (essential fatty acids), vitamins, minerals such as zinc and calcium, and water.

OILY SKIN

It is crucial not to wipe out the protective surface oils and disturb the skin microbiome by over-washing, over-exfoliating or under-moisturizing. These will result in vulnerable, irritated skin that is tight, shiny, reddish, and might even feel painful. 

SOLUTION: Oily skin is best treated with appropriate cleansers, AHA toners, Retinoids, Benzoyl Peroxide, Clay Masks, and lightweight, non-comedogenic moisturizers.

DRY SKIN

The hydration and moisture should be constantly replenished and maintained on this skin type since the diminished oil production makes TEWL (transepidermal water loss) very easy. 

SOLUTION: Proper skin nourishment is critical to prevent the formation of fine lines and inflammation. Choose emollient products such as Squalene and Shea Butter, Vitamins, and Humectants. Sun care is essential, as the UVA damage will accelerate aging of the skin that is already stripped of protective oils. Hydration and moisturizing is the key here, along with drinking plenty of water.

EATING FOR SKIN HEALTH

The reason we need to drink 8 glasses of water daily is that our organs secrete that much water and we must replace it for our body to function properly. Solution:  Staying hydrated and eating food rich in vitamins, minerals, fiber, protein, and probiotics in our daily diet is crucial for healthy skin, hair, and nails.
